Physicians Formula: Shimmer Strips All-in-1 Custom Nude Palette for Face and Eyes

I was supposed to post this in July but I guess I forgot....
Anyway, here's a palette that's been a favorite ever since I saw it floating around the internet in January (and that was before it was even sold in Australia...). This new version of the shimmer strips came to local Pricelines at around June and whilst it was released in two versions: Natural and Warm, so far I have only seen Natural Nude available in Australia. Not sure why, but I think it's okay seeing as they are pretty similar in shades.

The main selling point of this palette is that it's multi-functional as it can be used as an eye shadow, eyeliner, bronzer, blush or highlighter. Personally, I mainly use it as a highlighter as I think it works best that way :3 My skin is preeeeetty oily so I doubt it lasts the whole day.
I don't know how well it would work as a blush as it is quite shimmery and yeah... I don't want to look like a lamp ._. but that's just me.

Also, what makes this palette so unique is the packaging. No one can deny that this palette is probably (by far) one of the prettiest you'll find around ^_^ Of course the little bows imprinted on a few shades disappear after a few uses.

The back opens to a little guide , mirror, brush and applicator. Personally, I don't use this but I still like how it features a few extras so it's more convenient when you're out travelling or if you're a beginner.

The Physicians Formula Original Shimmer Strips (left) Compared to the original shimmer strips, the formula has improved quite significantly. I would need to rub the shadows in the original palette in order to get some sort of payoff when applying BUT the new shades are sooooo buttery *o* The softest I've swatched ....probably...ever.

Swatches in natural light

Pros:
  • Great range of shades
  • Really soft, pigmented formula
  • Innovative in packaging and multi purpose
  • Cute as packaging!
  • Compact and light
  • Easy to blend
Cons:
  • A few of the white shades can be quite chalky so not very ideal as eye shadows
  • Price (but well worth it :D)
Overall, I love love love this palette so much >_< and the cons I listed down are no biggies so this is something I definitely recommend

  2. Yeah I thought it was interesting how the colours turned up under my hallway lights haha. I purchased this for around $13 because Physicians Formula was on special at the time and I used a Priceline Voucher. Although, it's RRP$24.95 at Priceline
